'UFO' Hovers Over Jerusalem - Watch Video

'UFO' Hovers Over Jerusalem's Dome of the Rock Shrine

Published February 03, 2011
| The Sun

A glowing orb filmed hovering over the skyline of Jerusalem has left UFO experts dumbfounded.
The circular object was seen descending slowly over the holy city's iconic Dome of the Rock before flickering and shooting skyward like a rocket. Similar clips have been seen before and debunked as hoaxes. But this latest sighting has proved more difficult to dismiss -- as it was recorded from four different perspectives.
Some UFO enthusiasts believe the videos -- which have taken the Internet by storm -- are final proof that aliens exist, while others say the unidentified object was the Hebrew god Elohim.
Adding to the mystery is the fact that flying over the Dome of the Rock landmark -- an ancient Islamic shrine -- is forbidden.
Two witnesses at the Armon Hanatziv panoramic lookout near Mount Zion filmed the object at 1am on Saturday. A little after one minute into the clip, the object descends slowly, almost to ground level.
The craft hovers there for a short while and then flickers before shooting upwards at an incredible speed.
Former Ministry of Defense UFO investigator Nick Pope said: "If these are real, they are some of the most incredible videos ever shot.
"If they are not, then this is a very well-planned and coordinated hoax designed to eliminate elements of doubt.
"The way it shoots up into the sky suggests it is unmanned, because no living thing could survive those kinds of G-forces.
"We know the Israeli army has some very high-tech drones at its disposal. If this is one, it is one of the most advanced pieces of technology created by man."
Another set of observers also uploaded their mobile phone footage to YouTube on Saturday.
They wrote: "Have fun debunking this one." In their video, the American tourists can be heard saying: "We've seen them in Mississippi like this."
Two other clips filmed from different viewpoints were posted online. Skeptics have noted the views come from perspectives that could make nearby objects seem farther away and faster-moving. Others say the whole thing was faked and have prepared several alternative versions of the videos which they say prove they are not real.
These include stabilized versions in which the brightness and contrast have been increased, which they claim highlights a major flaw of perspective.
Another is motion-tracked, and apparently shows the UFO "bouncing around like crazy" -- which, say the sceptics, shows the makers had trouble inserting it into the scene.

Have you guys seen this video? It's been circulating quite a bit in the last few days. Your thought? Real or fake?

Report: Army was warned about Manning's state of mind, WikiLeaks update

Newspaper says military was advised not to send him to Iraq but did anyway

A mental health specialist told the military that the soldier accused of leaking classified material to WikiLeaks should not be deployed to Iraq, but was sent anyway, The Washington Post reported Thursday, quoting a military source.
The Post said the recommendation about Army Pfc. Bradley Manning was made by a specialist at Fort Drum, N.Y., but the final decision rested with his immediate commanders and the military was in need of intelligence analysts like him in Iraq at the time.
The newspaper said Manning was distraught about a personal relationship when he sought counseling help. The Post reported that the military official said Manning screamed at higher-ranking soldier in his unit at Fort Drum, and Manning's attorney said that in Iraq, a master sergeant was so concerned about Manning that he disabled the private's weapon in December 2009. The Army said Manning was demoted in Iraq in May 2010 for assaulting a soldier.
Manning, 23, is being held at a Marine facility in Quantico, Va., awaiting a possible trial. Supporters have said that the conditions of his solitary confinement are causing severe psychological distress to him and amount to punishment and torture.
Manning is accused of downloading classified State Department and Pentagon files, and he has been charged with transmitting classified material to an unauthorized person.
But U.S. military officials told NBC News last month that investigators have been unable to make any direct connection between Manning and Julian Assange, founder of the website WikiLeaks.
The officials say that while investigators have determined that Manning had allegedly unlawfully downloaded tens of thousands of documents onto his own computer and passed them to an unauthorized person, there is apparently no evidence he passed the files directly to Assange, or had any direct contact with the controversial WikiLeaks figure.
Assange, an Australian national, is under house arrest at a British mansion near London, facing a Swedish warrant seeking his extradition for questioning on charges of rape. Assange has denied the allegations.
WikiLeaks' release of secret diplomatic cables last year caused a diplomatic stir and laid bare some of the most sensitive U.S. dealings with governments around the world. It also prompted an American effort to stifle WikiLeaks by pressuring financial institutions to cut off the flow of money to the organization.

Wikileaks cable about UFOs revealed?

Wikileaks cable about UFOs revealed?

January 25, 2011

The biggest news from Wikileaks today isn't that the US embassy in Jakarta requested $100,000 to get a million people to "like" them on Facebook. Apparently, the UFO cable has been leaked.
UFO news site All News Web claims to have received a leak from Wikileaks about that UFO-related cable Julian Assange mentioned several weeks ago. Here's the scoop.
A source from within the inner circle of the Wikileaks team has confidentially leaked to All News Web the content of a State Dept cable, concerning UFO affairs, that Wikileaks has declined to upload onto their website.
The cable states: "It is critical all embassy staff understand that they are not to discuss under any circumstance concerns DOD has with UFOs entering orbit, once again the seriousness of this matter cannot be overstated"
The cable was sent on 9 November, 2005 by the State Dept to a diplomat connected to the US embassy in Kiev, Ukraine. As it implies, the State Dept was concerned with diplomats with loose tongues chatting about UFOs at cocktail parties and conceding that the US does allocate resources to the matter.
I'm inclined to believe that this leak could be real, if only because it's so ambiguous. Are embassy staff told not to discuss UFOs because the DOD isn't interested in them, and doesn't want people thinking they're using resources for UFO hunting? Or is the DOD asking embassy staff to cover up an ultra-classified project that they've improbably shared with diplomats in Kiev?
UPDATE: Many are calling this a hoax, which seems reasonable. But there has been no official word from Wikileaks on the matter yet.

In online chat, Assange says no one has been harmed by document releases

updated 12/3/2010 8:05:09 PM ET

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange held an online question-and-answer session Friday with the Guardian newspaper's readers

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange said on Friday that there were some references to UFOs in "yet-to-be-published" confidential files obtained from the U.S. government.  In an online chat hosted by the U.K.'s Guardian newspaper, he also said that no one has been harmed by his organization's release of troves of secret documents. "WikiLeaks has a four-year publishing history. During that time there has been no credible allegation, even by organizations like the Pentagon, that even a single person has come to harm as a result of our activities," Assange said in response to a reader's question. "This is despite much-attempted manipulation and spin trying to lead people to a counter-factual conclusion. We do not expect any change in this regard." Assange said he and colleagues were aware of death threats following the publication of  diplomatic cables on their website.  "The threats against our lives are a matter of public record, however, we are taking the appropriate precautions to the degree that we are able when dealing with a superpower," Assange was quoted as saying.
Answering questions online, Assange also said that anyone making threats against his life should be charged with incitement to murder.
Asked if he has ever been forwarded documents dealing with UFOs or extraterrestrials, Assange responded, "Many weirdos e-mail us about UFOs or how they discovered that they were the anti-Christ whilst talking with their ex-wife at a garden party over a pot plant. However, as yet they have not satisfied two of our publishing rules: 1) that the documents not be self-authored; 2) that they be original.
"However, it is worth noting that in yet-to-be-published parts of the Cablegate archive, there are indeed references to UFOs."
Britain's Guardian is one of a number of newspapers around the world with early access to diplomatic cables seen by WikiLeaks.
The whereabouts of Assange, a 39-year-old Australian, are unknown, but some reports have said he is believed to be in southern England.
Swedish authorities said on Friday that information missing from a European arrest warrant they had issued against Assange for alleged sex crimes had been handed to British authorities.
"We sent it. They asked for complementary information and now they have it," Swedish Prosecution Authority spokeswoman Karin Rosander said.
Bjorn Hurtig, Assange's attorney in Sweden, told Dutch TV that the WikiliLeaks founder would fight extradition if arrested.
Hurtig repeated Assange's denials of a sexual crime in Sweden and said any evidence against him was "very very weak."
"One woman says it's rape another woman says its a sexual offense," Hurtig said. "I will not say if he says he has had sex with them. I will tell you he denies rape he denies sexual offenses he denies having committed any sort of crime against these women or against any other person."
Crippling Web traffic In his reponses on the Guardian's online question-and-answer session, Assange described Pfc. Bradley Manning, who was detained in connection with the leaked documents, as an "unparalleled hero" — if it was he who leaked the cables to WikiLeaks, he said.

The Q&A session with was crippled at first by heavy traffic but it was not immediately clear if The Guardian newspaper website was under a denial of service attack.
The Guardian said on one of its Twitter feeds that readers should be patient because the website is under heavy visitor loads.
Assange has not made a public appearance in nearly a month, although he has spoken to journalists over the Internet.
Swedish authorities have issued a Europe-wide warrant for his arrest, while WikiLeaks has been forced to switch to a Swiss domain name after its American domain name provider withdrew service. Its sites have also been hit by denial of service attacks.
'History will win' "The Cable Gate archive has been spread, along with significant material from the US and other countries to over 100,000 people in encrypted form. If something happens to us, the key parts will be released automatically," Assange wrote in response to a question about the way material is distributed.
"Further, the Cable Gate archives is in the hands of multiple news organizations. History will win. The world will be elevated to a better place. Will we survive? That depends on you."
Assange also addressed the attention he has been getting while the rest of his organization has remained largely anonymous.
"In the end, someone must be responsible to the public and only a leadership that is willing to be publicly courageous can genuinely suggest that sources take risks for the greater good," he said.
"In that process, I have become the lightning rod. I get undue attacks on every aspect of my life, but then I also get undue credit as some kind of balancing force."
